Before I begin, I just want to say that this is in no way a judgment or criticism of anyone who chooses the ABDL lifestyle. Some of the kindest, most awesomest people I’ve been in conversation with over the years prescribe to this lifestyle. The folks that have found my Etsy shop (whether they prescribe to that lifestyle or not) and requested items were so patient and gave me invaluable feedback as I learned to make cloth incontinence products.

Honestly, I’m so blessed in this niche that I can count on one hand the difficult customers I’ve had over the past 9+ years.

ABDL and Innovation

I personally believe that the demand from the ABDL sector has really pushed through some innovations when it comes to cloth diapering options for adults. I cloth diapered my kids when they were babies and the baby cloth diapering world is a veritable wonderland of colors! Fabrics! Cloth diaper styles! Not to mention the ridiculous amount of companies that sell baby cloth diaper products. How do they all stay in business!!!!

Still, even with all the strides made, it makes the adult cloth diapering world feel like it’s still stuck in black and white TV. Let’s be real, you all deserve better than that. And there’s no place better to get exactly what you need when it comes to cloth than making it yourself 🙂

A Safe Place to Learn

My business is not ABDL because while it’s done a lot of good, it also has the negative side effect of ostracizing people who have incontinence and want to use cloth, but not be part of ABDL. I want Little Onion to be a safe place for people who want to learn how to use or sew their own cloth incontinence products. It is not a forum for ABDL.

Look, ABDL is not just a kink. It’s about the self-expression of a whole range of legitimate human needs and emotions. That said, there are appropriate and inappropriate places to express this. Just because a person or business sells, uses, or talks about adult diapers or cloth incontinence products doesn’t mean they are automatically ABDL.

All I’m saying is if that’s your jam, please be mindful of the audience when you start posting comments. With the exception of the really inappropriate ones, I’ve mostly just ignored comments. I’m here to help people learn to sew their own cloth incontinence products and comments should be relevant and helpful.

I want my patterns and information to be accessible to anyone who needs it, no matter why they need it. I am here to listen and to hold the stories that people share with me when they can tell no one else.

We all deserve to be the best version of ourselves. For some, that is being part of the ABDL world even though they don’t have incontinence. For others, that’s finding a cloth system for dealing with their incontinence that enables them to feel more in control and normal. For others, that’s looking for a cloth system for dealing with their incontinence, coming upon the ABDL world and saying, f*ck it, if I have to deal with incontinence, I might as well have fun.
